Epoxy Polyamide Zinc Rich Primer
Description:
PFZP-2001 is a primer based on Epoxy resin and polyamide hardener and can be used as first layer to protect of metal surfaces against corrosive materials.
This product is high performance and high quality with general properties of the Epoxys, as well as especial galvanic protection. If the coating is damaged, zinc powder provides cathodic protection and prevents the corrosion.
Advantages:
- Excellent corrosion protection
- Can be used with wide range of initial paints
- Good weather, water and abrasion resistance
- Excellent adhesion
Main uses:
As a primer for painting of metal structures, tanks’ exterior surfaces and pipelines of refineries, petrochemicals and power plants, industrial and marine areas, deck and body of ships, wastewater treatment utilities and chemical processes.

Application Guide:
Surface preparation:
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contaminants, grease, dust, rust, moisture and any loose particles. Metal substrates such as steel and iron are sand blasted up to SA2 grade. SA2.5 is recommended in aggressive conditions (e.g. water immersion). The painting process should be done immediately after the air blasting.
Ambient conditions:
Ambient temperature should be in range +10°C to +50°C during application.
Application:
At first, following surface preparation, part A is mixed using a suitable mixer, then two parts of the paint should be mixed with given ratio (According to packing) and thoroughly mixed using a suitable mixer until a homogenous solution is achieved. The paint can be thinned with T-950 thinner gradually while mixing.
It is necessary to mix the mixture continuously to avoid zinc sedimentation.
PFZP-2001 is applied using ordinary air or airless spray and small area of unpainted or damaged one can be repaired by brush. Using suitable ventilation is necessary while paint application is done in close places.
All tools should be washed with T-950 thinner after the application.
Note: It is necessary to mix the mixture during painting on the surface continuously, to avoid sedimentation and non- uniformity of paint.
Storage:
12 months, in unopened package & protect from direct sun light and heat at (+5 to +30) ºC.
